About the organisation

Exciting opportunity to join and lead one of the largest not for profit Children’s Services organisation’s within the Northern Rivers. Northern Rivers Children’s Services (NRCS) operates nine quality childcare services and an early child development and parent support program.

About the role

Working closely with the board, you will be responsible for the successful leadership, overall management, and operations of the Northern Rivers Children’s Services Scheme. The principal functions of the position include the development and articulation of the company’s strategic direction, implementation of business plans and overseeing the management of service operations and NRCS staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organisation’s programs and services.
  • Ensure that the organisation is operated in accordance with all state / federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the effective recruitment and performance management of employees.
  • Review, revise and develop policies and procedures for the organisation under the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and My time Our Place framework (MTOP).
  • Oversee all administrative and financial systems of the organisation.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks to the organisation’s clients, staff, management, volunteers, property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks.

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood (or equivalent ACECQA approved) and appropriate Business management qualifications.
  • Extensive experience working in senior childcare management position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Human Resource Management, financial management, and risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of creating respectful, nurturing, and empowering relationship in building a cohesive team.
  • Knowledge of working within vulnerable and disadvantaged communities and the regions barriers to childcare is highly desirable.
  • Qualifies as a Person of Management or Control as per guidelines from the Department of Education and ACECQA.
  • Extensive knowledge regulations, standards and the law related to Early Child Education and Care.
  • Driver’s license, Police check, WWC, RA Number (PRODA), First Aid, CPR and Child Protection.
