About Lifeline Australia

Lifeline Australia is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, established to support the development of national suicide prevention services and Lifeline centres throughout Australia. Lifeline Australia's (separately incorporated) 17 Member organisations own and operate 43 Lifeline centres across all states and territories in Australia.

Lifeline Australia Ltd (LLA) is located in Sydney, with small teams of dedicated staff employed to lead funding and corporate relations activities, and to provide the design, technical infrastructure and governance of services across Lifeline’s member network.

LLA recently embarked on an exciting transformation journey, guided by an ambitious strategic plan. The 2024-2027 Strategic Plan will see enhancements across services, technology and workforce to bring about better outcomes and a more accessible and flexible support system for help-seekers.

About the role

This is an opportunity to shape the future of crisis support as Lifeline Australia embark on a transformative journey to progress our ‘Service and Clinical Governance Framework.’

As the Clinical Lead for our crisis support services, you’ll be at the forefront of guiding and developing Lifeline Australia’s ‘Service and Clinical Governance Framework’ and implement a robust system to drive continuous improvement to ensure safe, high-quality service provision.

This role provides the link between corporate objectives, strategic priorities, and service quality. The Clinical Lead will champion clinical excellence and drive consistent, informed practice. There is a significant focus on clinical risk management, particularly in safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the design of policies, and procedures that ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory standards, as well as translating legislative changes into sustainable operational practices.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology, systems, and data to enhance service delivery.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing clinical risks, as well as developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Overseeing the investigation of complaints and clinical incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken and lessons are learned.
  • Overseeing quality assurance processes and systems, ensuring a high quality of care and service delivery is achieved within service provision.

About you

We are looking for a trailblazer with the experience and expertise to help us build something better. We are seeking someone with:

  • Natural leadership abilities who has a passion for all things quality, risk and continuous improvement.
  • The drive to be the ‘go-to’ for all things crisis support and suicide prevention, having a real passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives.
  • A proven track record including designing, developing, evaluating, and implementing quality, risk, and compliance systems in a health-related setting.
  • An ability to be a change catalyst and adept at implementing organisational-wide change management strategies to support new processes.
  • Top-notch interpersonal and communication skills, and a well-developed understanding of IT systems, including document management systems, databases, and data analysis.
