The Organisation:

An established cancer research charity raising funds for clinical trials to find better treatments and improve survival rates for a number of deadly cancers.

The Role:

As the Community Fundraising Lead, you will be instrumental in driving significant growth for the peer-to-peer programs and supporting awareness building programs and events. You'll play a pivotal role in driving the success of our fundraising and peer-to-peer marketing programs, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our vital research endeavours.

Responsibilities encompass creating, implementing, and managing the community fundraising initiatives including challenge events, in-memory, workplace giving programs, and engaging members in relevant fundraising activities that will grow revenue and build a supporter base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive strategies for donor development and community engagement, aligning with organisational goals and priorities.
  • Campaign Execution: Plan and execute multifaceted campaigns to drive donor acquisition, retention, and support. This includes coordinating peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, workplace giving programs, and in-memory campaigns.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate campaign performance, analysing data to derive key insights and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication Development: Collaborate with the Communications team and third-party suppliers to develop compelling communication materials that effectively convey their mission and drive engagement.
  • Donor Journey Management: Develop and implement a donor journey strategy, nurturing relationships with supporters and providing them with a meaningful experience.
  • Operational Support: Manage day-to-day operational tasks related to peer-to-peer programs, including database entry, reporting, and coordination of fundraising activities.
  • Creative Content: Develop copy and design for promotional materials, leveraging storytelling to inspire action and engagement.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Cultivate relationships with donors, supporters, and third-party suppliers, resolving conflicts and ensuring positive engagement experiences.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency enhancements, contributing to the overall success of fundraising initiatives.
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with the Head of Communications to align peer-to-peer programs with broader branding and marketing strategies, amplifying the impact of their campaigns.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Previous experience in fundraising within a NFP.
  • Proven success in growing and implementing community-based fundraising programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with partners and stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, eDM platforms, and social networking platforms.
  • Experience in online marketing and web content development.
  • Familiarity with CRM databases, particularly Raiser's Edge.
  • Budget management and project expenditure experience.
