About our client

Australia for UNHCR raises funds to support the Global UN Refugee Agency, who are often first in and last out during emergencies, providing crucial life-saving assistance and care to the people who need it.

Support comes in many different forms, such as donations to our emergency appeals, regular giving, community fundraising events, major gifts, and corporate partnerships. Australian gifts provide life-saving aid to civilians fleeing the frontlines of conflict. They also support longer-term projects in healthcare, education, and livelihoods. Nobody chooses to be a refugee, but we can all choose to stand with refugees in their time of need.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Donor Care and Information Technology, you will manage and motivate a small team, focusing on best practise and optimising daily operations with the existing CRM.

You’ll also play a critical role in the CRM Implementation Project team (and long-term, support the ongoing maintenance and delivery of the new CRM solution). Effective collaboration and communication across the fundraising divisions will be key to translating fundraising needs and enhancing system design and performance to deliver best value to stakeholders.

  • Manage the Donor Database (CRM) team – encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement and alignment with organisational goals, as well as leading the team effectively through change.
  • Facilitate success within the CRM implementation project alongside the team – driving the CRM roadmap implementation, working with key stakeholders to create adoption strategies, as well as supporting creation of design documents, functional requirements, and testing.
  • Support training by developing materials and organising meetings or workshops as appropriate to ensure effective adoption – ensuring procedures also support best practice data governance and data privacy regulations.
  • Be the internal business lead for the CRM, advising and extensively communicating across teams to enhance CRM functionality/processes, advocating for best practice design and innovative solutions to deliver best value to the organisation – as well as managing enhancements and fixes as part of the BAU.

Essential Requirements

You will be a passionate and experienced change management leader, able to be at the helm of innovation while leading your team effectively through transformation.

  • Robust experience managing large-scale database systems and operations, and previous exposure leading or contributing to CRM implementation projects.
  • Experience in the for-purpose sector and a deep understanding of fundraising databases and processes, with a track record of enhancing fundraising or marketing efforts through effective system/technology management.
  • Experience in leading and managing people, nurturing collaborative and values-aligned working environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate and effectively facilitate communications between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A solutions-focused mindset when approaching problems or issues to be resolved and high-level project and time management skills.
