Position Purpose:

The Fundraising & Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting Dymocks Children’s Charities' national and local fundraising efforts, focusing on events, campaigns, and community engagement. This full-time position reports directly to the Community & Events Lead and contributes to nurturing donor relationships, managing fundraising campaigns across Dymocks stores, and supporting key events like the annual gala dinner.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Coordinate diverse fundraising initiatives including community outreach, school programs, and targeted appeals.
  • Cultivate and oversee relationships with Dymocks stores to drive fundraising campaigns.
  • Support the Community & Events Lead in implementing communication strategies and engagement activities.
  • Assist in organising and managing DCC events.
  • Secure donations and prizes to enhance fundraising activities.
  • Provide essential administrative support across fundraising and event functions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce CRM to facilitate effective fundraising efforts.

Working Relationships:

Most Frequent Contacts: Community & Events Lead, DCC team, Dymocks FAC (Fundraising Advisory Committee), External Stakeholders (partners and donors).

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum one year’s experience in fundraising, events, or community engagement within the not-for-profit or charity sector.
  • Ability to prepare presentations for sponsors and events.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Passion for social justice and supporting children in need.

Skills, Systems and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce.
