About Good Things Foundation Australia

Good Things Foundation Australia is a social change charity that supports people to improve their lives by providing national digital inclusion support programs and campaigns. Striving to ensure the digital divide is acknowledged by decision-makers, they raise the voices of those who are digitally excluded.

Good Things creates local impact at scale, by building capacity in community organisations through specialised training packages, grants, and program support. They work with partners across the community sector, in government and business to develop programs that impact people's lives.

About the role:

Working collaboratively across Good Things Foundation, this role will lead the development of specialised content that will be used to upskill digital skills learners (particularly those who are most at risk of digital exclusion) and our network of community-based digital mentors (trainers) who help them to learn.

We are seeking a passionate online learning creator who can use engaging methods to support vulnerable people to build their confidence and skills to use technology. This role will champion creativity, innovation and the needs of our community partners and learners, to create high quality and engaging learning experiences for our digital inclusion programs.

Your goal will be to make learning digital skills and keeping up with tech fun and accessible to all!

Candidates who will be successful in this position:

To succeed in this position, you must be passionate, adaptable, and a driven creative or educator who is highly motivated to create social change. Your passion and commitment will be focused on the following:

  • Translate complex ideas into simple to understand learning content and makes learning fun and engaging
  • Identify and create learning content opportunities that will contribute to organisational growth
  • Create learning content plans from research results, learner needs assessments and program/organisations needs
  • Bring a creative and innovative approach to delivering train the trainer and digital skills learning resource delivery and production
  • Lead the delivery of new and tech-based learning methods
  • Work with network of community partners and the people they support to get online
  • Keep up to date with new and emerging tech, the digital inclusion conversation and learning content trends
  • Actively collaborate, co-design and seek input from the people who will use our learning resources - including our network of community partners - sector experts and our collaborative partners
  • Combine visual, audio, verbal and written communication skills to create engaging learning content
  • Support learning program outcomes and reporting measures, ensuring content developed has appropriate metrics and impact measures recorded

Essential Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience leading the creation of engaging and creative learning or education materials across a range platforms and delivery modes
  • Excels at translating complex ideas into easy to understand, plain English and engaging learning content
  • A passion for making content for social good and a creative approach to making information/education content engaging and exciting
  • High level experience creating engaging train the trainer resources or instructional/skill building content

Education and qualifications

  • Degree in communications, digital media production, education or similar, or equivalent recent relevant industry experience
  • Cert 4 in Training & Assessment or higher desirable
