About the role:
The Volunteer Engagement Manager: Training and Education is responsible supporting SLSNSW volunteers and members to deliver high quality and consistent training and education in line with RTO compliance requirements. It oversees the day-to-day operations of the Member Training & Education function, including volunteer engagement and communication, award and certification processing, trainer and assessor training, compliance with policies and procedures and continuous improvement.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Provide overall direction for the delivery and evaluation of SLSNSW training and education related activities, including internal/external reporting
- Oversee and drive the performance of the Training & Education team
- Coordinate communications to members and key stakeholders to support the implementation of existing programs, new initiatives and policies/processes
- Manage and report on relevant components of the Training & Education budget
- Ensure the coordination of State Education Committee meetings, forums and catch-ups
- Maintain and develop resources to support member training and education, including website content, handbooks and collateral
- Assist in developing relevant grant proposals and in exploring other funding opportunities
- Continually contributes to and supports volunteers & employees, including Directors, Branches, Clubs & Members
Education and qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering work plans linked to strategic plans/ objectives
- An understanding of the volunteer environment, either through paid or voluntary work
- An understanding of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality sector; (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience and skills in budget management
- Experience in developing and delivering adult education resources
- Experience of maintaining / configuring / implementing Student or Learning Management Systems / learner databases; (highly regarded)
- Experience of applying for and acquitting grant; (highly regarded)
- Experience working for a not-for-profit or community-based organisation
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or higher); (highly regarded)
- Relevant tertiary education such as a Degree in Adult Education or Management
- Willingness to travel intra- and interstate
- Current driver’s license
The Successful Candidate:
- Will have extensive experience working or volunteering in community and/or For Purpose organisations
- Will have experience working with or managing volunteers and members
- Be highly motivated to add value to the Training and Education team
