Belconnen Arts Centre aims to foster cultural diversity, remove barriers for artists with lived experience of disability and/or mental health issues and be a catalyst for positive change through our work with artists, communities and partners.

As the Belco Arts Embedding Culture Program Officer you will be instrumental in engaging with First Nations Elders, other knowledge holders and artists in the conceptualisation, design, effective management, delivery, full realisation, and installation of a range of site-specific public artworks that express, celebrates, embeds, and elevates the value and voice of First Nations art, storytelling, and language within the surrounding emerging suburbs.

This role will report to the Co-CEOs and will work alongside and be supported by a high-performing team of arts professionals, based in a state-of-the-art facility Belconnen Arts Centre by Lake Ginninderra.

Candidates must have:

  • an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
