The Senior Residential Care worker will attend to and respond to queries, incidents, assess risk and concerns from carers and young people in a prompt and timely manner. This role supports the home, carers and their team mates while playing a vital part in ensuring overnight safety plans for young people in out of home care are met and will be based on-site from the house.
The Senior Residential Care worker will assist and work collaboratively the House Supervisor and Team Leaders in managing the house and its operations in line with compliance requirements and Berry Street procedures. Ensuring the young people's needs are met with a client centered approach inline with the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (CYFA) and the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.
We are seeking someone who has the ability to identify opportunities for improved practice and can meet the flexible demands of the role, managing all the competing priorities. Previous experience in leadership role would be advantageous but not vital.
The successful candidate must hold a recognised and relevant qualification in residential care (Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention), Social Work, Youth Work, Alcohol/Other Drugs (or other relevant qualification) and substantial experience in working with children and young people.
A successful candidate must also have completed or be willing to complete the mandatory upskilling units as required by Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Our team will support you with your enrolment with our partner TAFE, Melbourne Polytechnic.
