About this Position

Beyond Blue is pleased to announce it is seeking expressions of interest for employment opportunities as entry level Before Blue Mental Health Coaches with the Services Business Unit (multiple roles available). Successful candidates upon commencement of employment will complete Low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT) training.

The training is online, 5 weeks, full time between 11 Aug 2025 to 12 Sept 2025. The training is funded by Beyond Blue and successful candidates will be employed and paid during the training. Multiple roles available, full-time or part time, 12-month contract. The role is hybrid that can be completed remote anywhere in Australia. 

The role

The Mental Health Coach will provide guided self-help support using Beyond Blue’s evidence based model of care. The Coach is responsible for delivering effective client assessment, triaging and treatment sessions for people who access the service through their workplace between the hours of 8am and 8pm AEST. Based on demand the coach may be deployed to other Beyond Blue services and supports to maximise impact from available hours.

About you

To be successful, you will have:

• An understand of professional ethics and boundaries.
• The ability to work in partnership with individuals to provide guided self-help.
• Have a strong interest and engagement in the mental health sector (directly or indirectly) and align with the values and purpose of the training and its application.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build rapport, treating clients with empathy, dignity, and respect.
• The ability to extend interpersonal skills to networking and community engagement.
• Highly organised and ability to self-manage workload.
• Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice.
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability and willing to undertake CBT Institute’s LiCBT training and supervision program.
