About the Role:

This role is part of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Leadership team consisting of four leaders and is responsible for driving growth of Major Donations at Anglicare. Salary packaging + Benefits, Retail discounts and Fitness Passport!

Purpose

The purpose of the role is the diligent oversight and pursuit of exponential growth in the major gift portfolio of the newly developed 5-year growth strategy. The development and execution of annual business plans that deliver the growth in all major gift channels. The management of Relationship Managers to collaborate as one cohesive team in efficient ways.

Specific Accountabilities

Strategy & Business Plans

  • In collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising, develop the major gift strategy and lead the development of annual business plans.
  • Lead the planning, tactics, execution and assessment of major gift donor engagement and growth, major donor pipeline development, and oversight of major gifts from churches, schools, corporates, and trusts and foundations.

The Philanthropy and Fundraising Leadership Team

  • Contribute to the collaborative leadership of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Team and wider Business Development Team, fostering an innovative, positive, creative culture.
  • Contribute to innovation and system and process improvement for increased visibility, accountability and an improved supporter experience.
  • Collaborate with the Campaigns and Fundraising Manager to deliver appeals for major gift donors.
  • Collaborate with the Bequest Manager to increasing gifts in wills among major gift donors.
  • Collaborate with the Supporter Experience and Events Manager on key events including table hosts and invitations for major gift donors for the Gala dinner and on smaller events.

Team Leadership

  • Assign clear leadership accountability and manageable portfolios within the Philanthropy team spanning major gift donors, mid-level donor management with the goal of identifying and nurturing prospective major donors, church and school relationship management with the goal of developing major giving, corporate engagement, and trusts and foundations engagement.
  • Support team members in a cohesive relationship management approach.
  • Collaborate with Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising to set clear activities for donor engagement and communication across the annual calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Fundraising Coordinator to assist with prospect research and prepare pitch decks.
  • Contribute to the professional development and wellbeing of team members.

Donor Management

  • Steward and develop a portfolio of relationships
  • Review plans for individual major gift donor engagement and collaborate with Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising to identify key development opportunities
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising to prioritise prospecting opportunities and which relationships would benefit from Senior Leadership engagement.

Database and Reporting

  • Ensure all Relationship Managers are using the same recording processes on the CRM, facilitating training as needed.
  • Track progress of performance and contribute to the preparation of the result analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years Relationship Management experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field
  • CRM experience, ideally in Raiser’s Edge
  • Project Management Skills
