About the Role

Responsible for the quality of their own work subject to detailed direction and works under routine supervision. Indicative tasks include collecting goods and materials from collection bins; unloading vehicles in the factory and stacking goods and materials in nominated areas; collecting food donations from parishes and other donors; distributing goods and materials to retail outlets; ensure bin areas are clean and presentable at all times; ensure vehicles are clean and well maintained.

As a Driver for the Food and Financial Assistance program, you will be assisting in all aspects of collection and distribution of donated goods and materials.

This role is a casual role based in Villawood, NSW.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Complete food deliveries in a safe and efficient way
  • loading and unloading the refrigerated trucks in a safe and hygienic manner
  • keeping food refrigerated and monitoring holding temperatures
  • keeping trucks in a clean condition, following all road rules, speed limits and Anglicare policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of the team of Drivers by operating in a cooperative way
  • Assisting other Drivers, delivering, and unloading the appropriate food to the correct destination on time.
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of food distribution process by suggesting improvements, identifying hazards
  • Contributes to the development of the safety culture

About you:

  • Relevant NSW Driver Licence or equivalent.
  • Understanding of HACCP Systems and Good Food Manufacturing Practices.
  • Motivated and able to work independently
  • Physically able to fulfil the requirements of the position
  • Works well in a team
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Clean driving record and willingness to have a police check
  • Enjoys meeting people and is community focused
  • Covid19 vaccination is strongly recommended
