About the Role:

Anglicare is a leading provider of accommodation services for older people across the Sydney and Illawarra regions. For many years, Anglicare has provided a range of affordable housing options for those who have limited means of providing for their own housing in the private market. As the IT Business Analyst, you will be working with our Housing team to oversee the business systems and ensuring that they are being used efficiently and effectively. You will be managing stakeholders, communicating with vendors and suppliers and will be proactive by driving tasks as you use your strong analytical skills and practical approach to solving business problems. This position is a Temporary 6 month Full Time position working 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures discussions about business needs and solutions, with the general user community.
  • Ensures sufficient level of business requirements (capability, functional, solution) gathering activities are performed that are aligned with intended project benefits, outcomes, capabilities and outputs.
  • Ensures sufficient documentation are produced for the requirements, designs including business processes, flowcharts, procedures and solution configurations.
  • Ensures functional and technical specification and documentation are appropriate and sufficient to deliver the projects.
  • Ensures optimum solution designs capture all business requirements by performing thorough analysis and engagement with the business and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensures that processes associated with technology projects are analysed and mapped appropriately and that documentation is built with this analysis as its firm foundation.
  • Ensures that training documentation needs are met, by producing training plans and guides, quick reference guides, and any other documents required by project resources or end users.
  • Providing system support and technology training and coaching.
  • Ensures continuous improvement, through assessment and evaluation.
  • Ensures technology design and solutions comply with regulatory requirements, business compliance needs and security standards.
  • Ensures efficient and appropriate data extraction, manipulation, processing and analysis.
  • Ensures appropriate level of testing are performed on different environment for all solutions.
  • Contributes in the discussions with the small team of technology experts in the solution delivery group.
  • Contributes in the discovery of appropriate technology used in the design and delivery of the solutions.
  • Contributes in the development of appropriate and sufficient reporting to management and project team on the progress of tasks and other project related activities.
  • Contributes to the team’s Change Management focus, with a view to ensuring that users are ready and willing to start delivering maximum value to the business as soon as technology projects go live.

About you:

  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis experience in business applications and IT projects with a proven record in delivering successful projects.
  • Experience in technology project implementation in various capacities.
  • Experience in business systems implementation and integration such as Finance and Payroll systems.
  • Strong proven track record of stakeholder management; including managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate technical matters in a clear non-technical manner and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project teams.
  • Analytical skills and a practical approach to solving business problems.
  • Ability to deliver smaller projects from a one-man team and to work with a larger group on more complex projects.
  • Excellent relationship management, business acumen and presentation skills.
  • An ability to think laterally and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong negotiation and decision making skills.
  • Experience in aged and community care industry is desirable.
