Program Lead Counselling

We are recruiting a NEW and very rewarding role as Program Lead who will be responsible for service delivery, service improvement, resource and team management including the clinical and administrative functions related to the government funded counselling programs across the greater Sydney region. Programs and services may include Family and Relationship Services, Family Law Counselling, Domestic and Family Violence work and Group Work Programs.

This is a permanent part-time (3-4 days a week) hybrid role working across multiple sites, namely; Parramatta, Summer Hill, Penrith And Campbelltown. The role is paid under the SCHADS Award.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Leads and is responsible for the CMYS counselling team within assigned region
  • Responsible for funded counselling program service delivery across CMYS within assigned region
  • A CMYS leader and member of assigned regional leadership team, working side-by-side with other CMYS leaders in applying a continuous improvement lens to workforce, outputs, and the client experience
  • Responsible for ensuring service delivery targets and key performance indicators are met and exceeded
  • Leads, supervises, communicates, and engages with staff to build effective teams.
  • Sets expectations, builds on strengths, and recognises good work, developing staff in their roles and their careers.
  • Provides regular feedback on performance and takes timely corrective action to address unacceptable performance or conduct.
  • Ensures that staff are well supported by providing appropriate appraisal, supervision, training, and development
  • Ensures documentation meets organisational, legislative, and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation and statistical information
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of CMYS programs by complying with policies, procedures, and work practice compliance and staying updated
  • Ensures program practices meet organisational, legislative, and clinical governance requirements by conducting regular reviews and evaluation of team, program, and client satisfaction
  • Leads continuous improvement of the counselling program by reviewing and implementing policies, procedures and work practices and ensuring these are communicated and adopted by the team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant Degree qualification and minimum of 3+ years demonstrated work experience in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology
  • A hands-on leader, with demonstrated experience including the coaching, mentoring, and training of your team.
  • Leadership and relational skills, with a desire to support high performance teams and adopt a proactive attitude.
  • An experienced leader with a mix of people and program leadership
  • Experience in leading a counselling or mental health team - highly desirable in a faith-based context
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence and a willingness to drive between sites as required.
  • Current WWCC, National Police Check and appropriate Clinical Registration.
