Anglicare is a leading provider of accommodation services for older Australian. For many years, Anglicare has provided a range of affordable housing options for those who have limited means of providing for their own housing in the private market. Our rental affordable housing properties are targeted at households on low and moderate incomes and are located throughout the Sydney and Illawarra regions.

Based at Norwest, the purpose of this permanent full-time role is to lead and develop the Housing Programs (Housing Assistance, SAHF) in the provision of their support coordination.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate supervision, development, training and team meetings to ensure that staff are well supported.
  • Ensure that the individual needs of our residents are met by case managers through a process of thorough resident assessments and case planning that is developed with the resident, which is clearly defined and with achievable outcomes.
  • Ensure that clear program objectives are developed for the housing programs.
  • Develop the SAHF/Housing Assistance program framework to maximise the potential for residents to achieve the desired outcomes of the program (to the extent possible under our contractual framework)
  • Ensure that the SAHF/Housing Assistance program outcomes are met using agreed outcomes measurements developed across the Affordable Housing program
  • Ensure that Housing support services work in an integrated way with other Anglicare Housing programs for residents by developing systems and processes that are reliable, effective and provide optimal resident outcomes.
  • Recruit appropriately qualified and trained staff and volunteers to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to residents. This also includes coordinating and supervising student placements.
  • Develop positive working relationships with the local community, churches, government and non-government services. This will involve attending local forums/interagency, government meetings, developing partnerships with local parishes and networking with appropriate services.
  • Ensure that program practices meet organisational and legislative requirements by conducting regular reviews and evaluation of program, caseworkers and resident satisfaction.

Minimum requirements

  • Tertiary qualification applicable to role - degree in social welfare, management or equivalent
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment and casework
  • Knowledge of child protection and family support practices and processes
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current Working with Children’s Check

You will have strong understanding of the community housing industry, a qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Aged Care or equivalent as well as several years post qualifying experience in the delivery of community based social services and/ or aged care.

To successfully grow this housing division, we are going to need to build a highly capable, competent and committed workforce to ensure the long-term success of this program. As well as ensuring the long term financial sustainability of the service.
