The purpose of the role is to bring supporters closer to the mission of Anglicare to create deeper donor relationships and increased revenue, primarily through major gifts, to support mission growth.

Events and experiences are an important part of the newly developed 5-year growth strategy. The development and execution of annual business plans that deliver the creatively themed engaging events that lead to growth in major giving. This role will closely collaborate with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager to develop bespoke events.

Specific Accountabilities

Strategy & Business Plans:

  • In collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising, develop the events strategy and lead the development of annual business plans and annual event calendar.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising, develop the theme and strategic direction of the key annual events.

The Philanthropy and Fundraising Leadership Team:

  • Contribute to the collaborative leadership of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Team and wider Business Development Team, fostering an innovative, positive, creative culture.
  • Collaborate with the Campaign and Fundraising Manager on guest lists and registration.
  • Collaborate with Bequest Manager on gifts in wills acquisition and stewardship events.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Manager on key events including table hosts and invitations for major gift donors for the Gala dinner and smaller events.

Team Leadership:

  • Ensure the effective execution of the events in collaboration with team members.
  • Provide guidance, support and leadership development of team members.
  • Contribute to the professional development and wellbeing of team members.

Events:

  • Lead the project management, planning, tactics, execution and assessment of major gift donor events.
  • Lead the excellent delivery of key annual events, including the Gala Dinner, Manly Dinner, Bequest Lunch and Thank You Functions, and smaller themed experiences, events and program visits
  • Engage donors through program launches.
  • Contribute to innovation and system and process improvement for increased visibility, accountability and smooth, timely event planning liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare event plans, event executive briefs, speaker briefs, speaker notes, invitations and all event related communication.
  • Collaborate with Anglicare Communications and Social Media team on all technical aspects of the event planning and execution.

Management of Supporter Experiences:

  • Collaborate with Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising and external agencies to effectively deliver Care News and other donor stewardship programs.
  • Organise program visits and donor volunteering opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Social Policy and Research Unit to deliver the impact reporting.

Reporting:

  • Ensure the oversight of a smooth registration processes and data accuracy on the CRM.
  • Provide detailed event evaluation reports after events in collaboration with contributing managers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Has experience managing leading Gala Events or corporate events
  • Qualifications gained in Event Management or similar field
  • 7+ years in management and leadership experience
  • Relationship Management experience
  • Software: Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, CRM ideally Raiser’s Edge
