Powerful Owl Coordinator

We are looking for a dynamic Powerful Owl Coordinator to synchronise the collecting of ecological information on Powerful Owls in South East Queensland and help drive conservation action plans for their continued survival in urban areas across their range.

The Powerful Owl Coordinator will engage and coordinate volunteers, analyse project data and inform and support management working with stakeholders and land managers in the conservation of Powerful Owls.

You will do this by:

  • Coordinating a network of trained project volunteers to collect ecological data
  • Annually recruiting new project volunteers and running community workshops
  • Mapping the location of all known breeding pairs and manage a database of data
  • Refining species distribution models
  • Producing reports for grant bodies
  • Publishing a quarterly newsletter

Status and Remuneration:

This is a part-time position 2 days a week (0.4 FTE) based at Dutton Park, Brisbane, offered on a 16-month contract. Salary up to $28,058 (pro rata of full time equivalent) based on experience and expertise. Plus 9.5% superannuation.
