Senior Counsellor - Practice Development - Remote / Work from Home

Blue Knot provides national telehealth services that support adult survivors of complex trauma, as well as their support people such as partners, family, friends & professionals.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual with leadership and clinical experience to join our remote working Helpline and Redress Team in this newly created role.

The Role

The Senior Counsellor – Practice Development is a multifaced, hands-on role with practice development at the core. As a member of the Telehealth Leadership Team, it plays a pivotal role in supporting the professional growth and management of the team, plus the direct provision of service delivery on the frontline when needed. The focus will be strengthening the team's capability to deliver safe, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate quality services.

The frontline service delivery aspect of this role includes short-term telephone counselling, information and referral on the Helpline, plus onboarding and triage activities for Redress.

The position is part-time at 4 ordinary business days per week, plus occasional weekends & public holidays in line with a rotating roster. The working day is 7.5 hours within daytime hours. It is classified under the SCHADS Award classification of Social and Community Services Employees.

Our experienced and friendly Helpline and Redress Team is comprised of counsellors specialising in complex trauma support and working across both services. Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work or Counselling.
  • Current professional membership reflecting experience as a mental health clinician.
  • Substantial post qualification direct counselling experience within a telehealth environment, ideally with complex trauma clients and demonstrating a significant focus on trauma-informed practice.
  • People management or supervisory experience in the role of a Senior Counsellor or other service delivery leadership role.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of telehealth best practice approaches, processes, and trauma-informed frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk management, safety planning and supporting service users with complex needs.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to assess information, data and reports to make data-driven recommendations and identify themes.
  • Ability to remotely develop staff capability in telehealth processes, procedures and frameworks, which will include delivery of individual and team training sessions and coaching.
