Brunswick Neighbourhood House offers a range of services including community events, short courses, health and wellbeing programs, support groups, occasional childcare, children's activities and information and referral for members of the community.

ABOUT ACFE

ACFE (Adult, Community and Further Education) is a State Government Funded initiative designed to assist disadvantaged learners in their employment and education journey.

ABOUT THE Role

The Projects and ACFE Programs Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and acquittal of BNH’s grant based projects, the coordination of our ACFE programs, the supervision of the Community Development Bicultural Worker and students on placement at BNH.

key responsibilities INCLUDE

  • Maintain strong working relationships with the ACFE Regional staff, manage all ACFE related correspondence and provide summarised reports to management.
  • Monitor ACFE programs delivery and other reporting compliance, including moderation of courses.
  • Ensure class records are maintained by tutors including attendance, sample learners’ work, lesson plans and assessments in order to fulfil reporting requirements for ACFE.
  • Recruit, manage and support tutors, volunteers and students on placement associated with ACFE program delivery.
  • Work with BNH's Marketing and Programs Coordinator to ensure all ACFE programs are marketed in a timely fashion.
  • Supervise the Bicultural Community Development Worker to ensure enrolment targets are met.
  • Write submissions for ACFE funding, including the development and adjustment of the yearly delivery plan, and applications for additional hours.
  • Coordination of projects and grants to meet specified milestones or outcomes as outlined in the funding agreements.
  • Engagement with organisations, networks, and individuals outside of BNH to promote the project’s aims and meet agreed activities.
  • Manage engagement with BNH community to in-build project aims into the current programs, events or through external opportunities.
  • Work with RMIT to provide a group placement experience for students.
  • Ensure students are provided with the opportunities and tasks required to complete their assessments during placement time.

Selection Criteria

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to relate to a wide variety of people at all levels and cultural backgrounds.
  2. Demonstrated problem solving, organisational and time management skills.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based communications.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team, and independently when required.
  6. Discretion and loyalty.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience and/or qualifications in education, community services or similar.
  • Language other than English
  • Full Driver’s License
  • Existing contact networks

This is part time, fixed term contract position. The salary is currently $37.83/hour plus superannuation.
