WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE

As a program facilitator you will travel all over Melbourne and sometimes to regional Victoria. In classroom groups of children from 3 to 18 years old, you will deliver programs, facilitate conversation and engage in activities and games. Often you will be working solo with support from the classroom teacher.

Each program is delivered over two to five sessions, meaning you will be building relationships with the children and encouraging them to reflect on issues that matter to their safety and wellbeing. Prior to the start of each program, you will deliver an evening workshop for the children’s parents or caregivers.

You will also be involved in project work that reflects your skills and experience. This will be at times based at our Coburg office or from home.

Once a term, the entire team comes together for learning on a variety of topics from teaching skills, understanding disabilities, trauma healing in the classroom and the needs of minority students.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate interactive learning through discussion, games, song and activities
  • Deliver workshops to children and young people in metro, regional and rural Victoria
  • Demonstrate the respectful and inclusive qualities we teaching
