As Campaign Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and driving a well-organised and highly motivated campaign team, ensuring the campaign resonates with the voters of Bradfield. The role requires strategic leadership, project management skills, strong people management, and a deep understanding of political campaigns.

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and dedicated Campaign Manager to lead Nicolette Boele’s campaign for Bradfield. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of one of the largest grassroots campaigns in the country. The Campaign Manager will be at the core of the campaign’s daily operations, leading community organising, volunteer management, fundraising, communications, and campaign strategy. You will also provide important counsel to the candidate, and the core leadership team.

This is a full-time, paid position from now until the next Federal election.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy

  • Work closely with the Campaign Chair and Candidate to oversee and hone the campaign strategy as things evolve and change throughout the campaign.

Campaign Execution:

  • Implement the campaign plan, ensuring all activities are compliant and executed effectively.
  • Coordinate and manage voter contact efforts, including phone banking, door-knocking, and community engagement events.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the campaign, ensuring all teams are aligned with strategic priorities.

Volunteer Coordination & Voter Contact:

  • Manage the Lead Organiser and work closely with them to build a robust voter contact program.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and equipped to carry out campaign activities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment for volunteers and staff, ensuring a growing and motivated volunteer base.

Candidate Support:

  • Provide strategic day-to-day support to the candidate, including managing their schedule, event coordination, and preparation for public appearances.

Fundraising:

  • Assist the lead fundraiser in planning and executing local fundraising efforts.
  • Support fundraising calls and help ensure the financial health of the campaign.

Communications and Messaging:

  • Help craft and execute a communications strategy that includes media outreach, digital advertising, social media, and direct mail.
  • Draft press releases and liaise with both local and national media outlets.
  • Oversee social media accounts, ensuring consistency in messaging and engagement with the community.

Event Coordination:

  • Plan and oversee major campaign events, such as town halls, community forums, and media appearances.
  • Ensure that events run smoothly and are impactful in communicating Nicolette’s message to the public.

Selection Criteria

  • Leadership and Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and adapt strategies in fast-paced, dynamic environments to achieve overarching goals.
  • Project and People Management: Proven track record of managing complex projects and coordinating diverse teams, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Volunteer and Community Engagement: Experience in building and motivating large teams or networks, ideally with a focus on grassroots or community-driven efforts.
  • Fundraising and Resource Management: Experience managing or contributing to fundraising efforts, ensuring financial goals are met and resources are effectively utilized.
  • Communication and Media Savvy: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in messaging, media outreach, and digital platforms.
  • Commitment to Values-Driven Work: Passion for community-focused leadership and integrity, with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
