The Turning Corners Program provides a comprehensive and integrated response to working with young people who have engaged in, or are at risk of engaging in, harmful sexual behaviour. The program also supports young people who have been impacted by harmful sexual behaviours.

This role is based at Loganholme with some regional travel required.

A day in this role may include:

  • Provide evidence based clinical treatment and counselling to young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviour, or who have been impacted by harmful sexual behaviour
  • Provide support and education to clients and their family members around the issues, symptoms and ongoing concerns relating to harmful sexual behaviours, and the effect on themselves, the survivor and families
  • Conducting assessments with clients, including family and home visits, to ensure the work completed is effective and measurable
  • Concise and professional reporting for external bodies
  • Delivery of training where required, including community network forums

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or related field
  • Registration and/or membership with governing body of profession
  • Experience in providing trauma counselling
  • Some experience in working with young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviour is preferred
  • A demonstrated understanding of child protection legislation relevant to service delivery is required.
  • An open-minded, resilient and optimistic outlook
  • Drivers Licence and ability to travel throughout Queensland is essential
  • As a child-safe organisation, candidates must have a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Certificate before commencing with Bravehearts
