Ballarat Renewable Energy and Net Zero Emissions Inc. (BREAZE) is a not- for-profit environmental advocacy group formed in 2006. We are a volunteer led organisation run by an enthusiastic Board of Management.
Our mission is: To protect and enhance the natural environment and increase environmental sustainability within the region by promoting and developing renewable sources of energy and significantly reducing the region’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.
BREAZE aspires to facilitate, encourage and educate the wider Ballarat community towards a goal of zero emissions by 2030.
BREAZE volunteers engage in advocacy, community education, fundraising and project management, for the installation and provision of renewable energy sources and improving efficiencies across local residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and transport sectors—to move the community towards a zero emissions future.

We are looking for a part-time contractor for a 12-month position with the possibility of extension to June 2027 (on satisfactory completion of first 12 months). Hours vary, approx. 1.5 days per week.
Work from home with flexible hours. Some day-time face-to-face, weekend and evening work in the Ballarat area required.
Ballarat Net Zero 2030 – Community Partnerships for Success (CPP) is a recently announced 3-year program, funded by the City of Ballarat to engage the community in the implementation of the City of Ballarat Net Zero Emissions Plan. BREAZE has received funding for a three-strand project, the objective of which is to serve the Ballarat Net Zero Emissions Plan and its aspirational net zero 2030 target.
The BREAZE Inc. CPP Program aims to help the community to cut carbon emissions and energy costs and raise awareness and support for the Ballarat Zero Emissions 2030 Plan.
This position will work under the direction of BREAZE’s City Partnership Program (CPP) Steering Committee and report to the BREAZE Inc. Board. Direct oversight of the project strands by the two project leads will also be provided.
This position will suit someone who has strong marketing and communication skills, including wide-ranging content production skills and familiarity with a diversity of platforms who can shape and amplify the key messages and outcomes of the project.
