Team Leader, Income Coordination (12-month Maternity Leave Cover starting September 2024)

The Team Leader, Income Coordination leads a small team who together are responsible for the rent review process for Bridge Housing tenants; rent review is the bi-annual process of reviewing the rent and any rental subsidies of social housing tenants in Bridge properties or leaseholds. 

The Income Coordination team sits within the wider Customer and Communities Team who delivers Bridge Housing’s service delivery to tenants of Bridge Housing. The Income Coordination team work closely with other Housing teams to ensure a smooth and effective rent review process for Bridge tenants, providing them with clear communication about their rent and income coordination initiatives.  

As Team Leader, you are responsible for ensuring the team conducts an efficient and effective rent review process and is continuously reviewing our service delivery to make further improvements for our tenants. But you’ll also be responsible for:

  • Using your expertise to identify services and initiatives that will maximise income for our tenants.
  • Creating and maintaining partnerships which give tenants access to wider external financial inclusion products and services
  • Raise awareness of financial inclusion issues and services, amongst both tenants and your colleagues
  • Using your initiative to take the lead in developing and providing training on financial inclusion issues and services

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a strong understanding of Community Housing Rent Policy, the application of rent setting rules to different programs and incomes
  • You have a good knowledge of rent review processes and timelines, including rent eligibility assessments, verification of income and legislative compliance
  • You understand the intricacies of Centrelink and Centrepay processes in relation to rental payments
  • You’ve experience in coaching and training peers on detailed processes
  • You’ve a natural attention to detail with strong technical skills (strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel necessary)
  • You work well towards high volume, time-orientated deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and able to expertly advice tenants to achieve the best outcomes for them
