San Carlo Homes for the Aged, a highly respected aged care provider in Melbourne's northern suburbs, has a rich history of supporting elderly Italians. Established by the Scalabrinian Fathers in the mid-1970s, San Carlo provides compassionate care in a 142-bed facility, including dementia care, high-care beds, and a hostel. With a mission-led ethos, the organisation offers a blend of permanent and respite care, all within recently renovated facilities ensuring comfort and security for its residents.
As the new CEO, you will lead San Carlo through its next chapter following the retirement of a long-serving CEO. You’ll collaborate with a strong leadership team and continue to uphold the organisation’s legacy of delivering high-quality aged care services. Working closely with the board, including representatives from the Scalabrinian Fathers, your role will involve driving strategic growth, ensuring operational excellence, and navigating sector challenges such as regulatory and demographic changes.
You will bring senior leadership experience in aged care or another highly regulated service sector, with a proven track record in governance, strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement. A deep respect for the Catholic Italian heritage and an ability to lead in a mission-driven environment is essential, as is a collaborative leadership style that fosters a strong culture of continuous improvement.
Your aptitude and understanding the operations of a service delivery organisation will allow you to ensure effectiveness of all business areas – and guide the organisation into a strong and flourishing future. By empowering and supporting your functional leaders, you will share your expertise to foster a high-performance culture.
With a keen understanding of sector trends and a focus on organisational sustainability, you will provide valuable insights into both the current and future states of the industry.
San Carlo offers a unique opportunity to lead an established, mission-aligned aged care provider with a supportive board and team. The role provides a competitive salary package with additional salary packaging benefits.
