We’re looking for a professional Early Years Program Coordinator with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a part-time maximum term basis until December 2024, working 30.4 hours per week based in our lovely office in Fitzroy and with hybrid and flexible working hour options available.

THE ROLE

Whilst there are some hands-on delivery of programs, the primary focus of this role is to develop, plan, coordinate, innovate, evaluate and support staff in the effective delivery of Early Years Programs. Essentially, program coordination and coaching staff to deliver, meet reporting requirements and the needs of our families and children. This is not an Early Childhood Centre role, rather a community support role working towards improving the engagement of CALD families into EY services and improving the relationships between parent and child, with at home learning and playgroup activities.

In this rewarding role you will supporting disadvantaged, refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and families whilst leading a team of up to five support workers and playgroup facilitators in a supportive and family friendly environment.

• Provide practice supervision and support to up to 5 staff.
• Develop innovative, inclusive playgroup, parenting and at home learning plans.
• Provide and purchase home learning, playgroup and program resources.
• Coordinate annual and special events, school holiday programs for families and their children.
• Meet with the support workers weekly for planning, implementation and reflection.

Salary will be in the range of $84,506.61 - $90,928.23 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

• Relevant undergraduate qualifications Community and or Children’s Services, Social Work, Community Development, Early Years or Education.
• Demonstrated experience in Early Childhood practice/ pedagogy or demonstrated experience in community services, not for profit organisations, Local Government, education and children’s services.
• Relevant experience and knowledge of child and/ or family centric programs and child safety practices.
• Highly developed coordination, project management and report writing skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Share Point and PowerPoint.
• Ability to speak a community language other than English is highly desirable (Arabic, Somali, Oromo, Amharic, Tigrine, Dari, Vietnamese).
