We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer to help maintain the Clifton Hill Aged Care Facility’s buildings, grounds, and equipment in excellent condition. Reporting to the Property Services Lead – Residential Aged Care, this part-time role (15.2 hours per week) supports the smooth operation of the facility.

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to undertake tasks as directed by the Property Services Lead – Residential Aged Care (supervisor) to maintain the building and grounds internal and external elements at the Clifton Hill Aged Care Facility in optimum condition, as well as supporting the operations of the facility as they relate to plant, equipment, and services.

  • Assist with Building access:
    • Assignment of Access Security Passes for staff, residents, and contractors
    • Ordering new site keys on request by site staff (via Upkeep request)
  • Making temporarily safe, areas in preparation for works to occur, or in response to breakdown
  • Maintenance of furnishings including at end of lifecycle or as new items are required
  • Assisting in, inducting, and overseeing contractors to site for reactive and preventative repairs and maintenance, including Essential Safety Measures

Salary will be $81,702.37 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated experienced as an all-round handy person with solid skills in repairs and maintenance jobs
  • Proven ability to prioritise, manage and complete jobs in a set period with limited supervision
  • Competent in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of safety related to the transportation of tools, materials, and work pieces in and around work areas
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safe Work Australia Health & Safety practices, and demonstrate a safety-first approach at all time
