We’re looking for a professional Operations and Finance Officer with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week based in Fitzroy.

Summary of the HIPPY program and its objectives

HIPPY (Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngster) is a free, two-year, home-based early childhood learning program that empowers parents/carers of 3 and 4 year old children to be their child's first teacher.

The objectives of HIPPY are to:

  • Provide a child with a structured education-focused early learning program at home
  • Improve children's preparedness for school
  • Build the confidence and skills of parents and carers to create a positive home learning environment
  • Support employment opportunities for HIPPY Tutors

The HIPPY National Office supports our partners to deliver the HIPPY program in 100 communities around Australia.

THE ROLE

This role is situated within the HIPPY National Office and its purpose is to improve financial and operational processes. You will be responsible for strengthening our financial reporting, monitoring and analysis processes, as well as identifying process improvements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in both financial reporting and operations (particularly in relation to continual improvement).

  • Lead the implementation of financial data processes and system administration to ensure effective use across the HIPPY Australia team and the HIPPY Network
  • Enhance HIPPY’s financial and operational systems, processes and analysis with efficiencies and innovations through regular review and feedback from the network and HIPPY staff
  • Engage regularly with the HIPPY Network to support ETO enquiries, implementation of data and reporting systems, investigation and solution management
  • Support the integration of the Quality, Monitoring and Performance strategy and operational approach that meets requirements of Grant Agreements and Sublicence Agreements to ensure alignment between financial performance and program outcomes

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for an who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience, in Administration, Finance, Business Management, and other relevant areas
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and analyse financial performance systems within allocated budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles including quality management, performance and improvement systems, data analysis, administration, system efficiencies and other related experiences
  • Experience in supporting the managing of operations and/or contracts, preferably in the community sector including project management
  • Strong computer literacy skills with competency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Outlook and the use of databases

Salary will be in the range of $91,420.49 - $95,559.07 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.
