We’re looking for a professional Procurement Specialist with relevant system and cost-optimisation experience who wants to join our team of 1500 employees and 1000 volunteers to make a difference on a permanent full time basis, working 38 hours per week, based in Fitzroy. 

THE ROLE

The Procurement Specialist is key within the Business Enablement Group and has responsibility for partnering with stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement activities to effectively meet BSL’s strategic and business objectives. This role will assist with the development and implementation of the twelve-month rolling strategic, organisation-wide procurement plan.

The role supports cross-functional teams during each stage of procurement activity to ensure effective administration of procurement processes and compliance with all procurement policies, processes, procedures, and frameworks. The Procurement Specialist provides advice to the organisation relating to executing contractual agreements, plus reviews and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure we maintain and update the central revenue and expense contract repository.

Key aspects include the following:

  • Leverage data-driven insights to identify areas for cost reduction without compromising on quality or performance ensuring sustainability, scalability, and that support BSL's long-term strategic goals.
  • Support cross-functional teams during each stage of procurement activity to ensure the effective administration of all procurement processes and compliance with all procurement policies, processes, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Provide procurement support and advice in relation to planning, sourcing, tendering processes, supplier evaluation and selection, contracting, and supplier and contract management regarding goods and services procured by BSL.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the Procure to Pay process and system, and the maintenance of the central contract repository.

Salary will be in the range of $100,544.29 to $105,096.07 plus salary packaging plus superannuation per annum, based on skills and experience.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant experience and/or tertiary qualifications in business, including procurement, or CIPS qualification or related discipline.
  • Previous demonstrated experience with a minimum of three years in supporting a procurement function and/or team with an emphasis on hands-on operational management, procurement process systemisation and process improvement, and delivery of key outcomes and targets in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and attention to detail in reviewing, negotiating, cost optimisation, and working with contractual agreements.
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organisation and adapt the best practice approach accordingly.
  • Strong administrative skills, including attention to detail and time management skills, and the ability to deal with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Commitment and capacity to deliver quality support services and ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, Folio and other relevant systems.
