ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Property Officer, you will play a key role in the upkeep and smooth operation of our property. Your responsibilities will include routine and reactive maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring all facilities and equipment are well-maintained. You will also assist with land management tasks such as gardening, landscaping, and basic machinery operation. Additionally, you will help maintain safety standards through regular inspections and compliance checks. By managing maintenance requests and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, you will contribute to a safe and efficient environment. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of property management while supporting the overall operations of our property.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Building Maintenance:

  • Undertake routine preventative maintenance.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure timely building maintenance and keep management informed.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requirements, (eg. servicing taps, changing light globes and minor repairs) with consideration to the broader maintenance schedule.

Land Maintenance:

  • Provide assistance with pasture management and weed control.
  • Assist with lawn mowing, general garden work and landscaping.
  • Assist in bush regeneration, including weed and erosion control.
  • Maintain fencing and ensure roads are clear and accessible.
  • Assist with the daily management of the cattle operation.

Asset Maintenance:

  • Maintain water reticulation for house and stock water, and on-site sewerage systems.
  • Operate garden and farm machinery including farm tractor with front end loader, ride on mowers and chain saws.
  • Property equipment is maintained at a safe working level.
  • Assist with basic machinery maintenance and building repairs.
  • Assist with exterior cleaning of all property buildings, including waste removal.
  • Perform regular safety, security and fire testing and checks.
  • Provide first level support for IT hardware needs.

Work Health & Safety:

  • Contribute to risk assessments and implement mitigations and controls for Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and standards.
  • Conduct routine WHS inspections of plant, equipment, and access routes.
  • Assist in administering the Workplace Health and Safety Management System and using relevant software.
  • Maintain assets according to the schedule, ensuring compliance with servicing and safety checks.

Operational Excellence:

  • Manage maintenance requests, work with contractors as needed.
  • Identify and resolve operational process problems in a timely manner.
  • Follow defined processes and maintain documentation as required.
  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders throughout all phases of work.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications / certification or practical work experience, demonstrating basic trade skills.
  • Proven “hands-on” experience in service-based industry Minimum of 2 years previous experience in building / site maintenance.
  • Proven experience in undertaking routine and reactive maintenance for buildings and property, including operating and maintaining relevant machinery and equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills for managing maintenance schedules, tasks & records effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors, management, and team members, and for clearly conveying information and updates.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to the role, including for maintaining records, scheduling tasks, and providing basic IT support.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of WHS legislation and related responsibilities including Risk Assessments (RA) Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Trade qualification or experience
