Bush Heritage Australia is seeking a Visitation Officer to join the Engagement team.
This is an exceptional opportunity to make a very real contribution to the protection of Australia’s unique wildlife and habitat.
For over 30 years we’ve supported and protected some of the most fragile ecosystems across the continent and seen the impact of our science-based approach. We keep our eyes on the horizon and focus firmly on long-term, landscape scale impact. As a national, not-for-profit, we want to continue to expand the areas we protect and deepen the impact we have. We work in partnership with Traditional Owners, listening to and learning from the customs and cultures that came before us.
Together we can heal and protect the bush, now and into the future.
The Visitation Officer will join a small team (Events and Visitation) dedicated in engaging our supporters and new people to Bush Heritage, through a range of events and reserve visits. This team also plays a key role in providing support across the organisation with event and visit related activities.
The Visitation Officer will play a major role in helping to deliver our Visitation Program, with particular focus on guided visits. These visits range from single to multi day trips. This is both an administrative and field-based role. The incumbent will require an excellent understanding of trip planning and logistical requirements and have excellent experience in coordinating and managing group visits in field-based locations. The Visitation Officer works closely with key staff and stakeholders involved in guided trip activities and is responsible for undertaking administrative tasks, such as trip documentation, promotions, bookings, briefings and reports. The Visitation Officer provides critical support to the field staff or experts in all aspects of the trip's delivery.
During guided trip times, the Visitation Officer will regularly be required to work outside of standard business hours and be prepared to travel away from home and to some very remote locations. Bush Heritage has a comprehensive Field Safety System and associated policies and procedures to support the safety of our people in the field.
To apply for this role, click "Apply Now" and simply fill in your personal details and answer the questions at the bottom of the page. You will then be taken to a page to upload a copy of your CV. There is no need to attach a cover letter or separate document answering key selection criteria. Candidates who are interested in the position are encouraged to apply even though they may feel they are not strong on individual selection criteria. In assessing merit, the panel will take into consideration “performance or achievement relative to opportunity”. We recognise that many staff today have a range of personal circumstances, and career histories.
