The role of General Manager of Programs is to focus on the partnerships, management and delivery of our community based screen and arts programs on a national level.

We are looking for a self-starter who can really engage with both the disability and the screen industry who has a passion for building lasting partnerships and integrating strong inclusive culture within a team.

This role will be responsible for the following:

Program Management

  • Ensure Bus Stop Films delivers a suite of impactful, inclusive, dynamic and sustainable community arts programs including our Accessible Film Studies Program. PLACES and Accessible Acting Program.
  • Manage relationships and access services provided by partners to meet the delivery of the programs.
  • Implement the successful delivery of any new programs delivered at various locations nationally. Including identifying new opportunities to scale or expand programs and partnerships.
  • Work alongside the Curriculum Development Specialist to ensure a consistent experience is being delivered across the country nationally.
  • Ensure that all staff comply with all required state based legislation as they relate to all BSF programs.
  • Ensure sound management and accuracy of Program information, especially as they relate to participant outcomes and goals, such as for NDIS plan reporting.
  • Manage program budgets including escalating any business cases for critical spend to the COO.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders around program film projects and related screening opportunities and ensure the input of program participants and ambassadors.
  • Work with key communities across the arts, screen and disability sectors to build engagement and increase enrolment numbers across the country.
  • Identify key partners and programs across the arts/screen and disability sectors that would provide benefit to our community and programs eg incursions, guest tutors and excursion opportunities.
  • Support the curriculum redevelopment project with the Curriculum Development Specialist.
  • Work in partnership with the Bus Stop Employment team to expand on cross program enrolments.
  • Identify marketing opportunities to promote all BSF programs.
  • Capture and report any trends that you may be noticing to the COO/Head of Screen to work through potential issues or opportunities.
  • Work with the stakeholders to deliver on the projects and provide effective change management.
  • Manage contracts and MOU agreements with venues in relation to our Programs.
  • Manage and triage any complaints or feedback from program participants and stakeholders.

Team Management

  • Manage the recruitment of program staff, including tutors, disability support workers and core team, who work in locations across Australia.
  • Oversee the day to day operation of an inclusive and professionally run community arts/screen based team and programs.
  • Implement new processes to improve efficiency within the team and to reduce the administrative burden on staff.
  • Research and source skills development and funding opportunities for the staff to increase their training opportunities.
  • Manage complaints received from our Programs, Tutors and Support Workers.
  • Oversight volunteer engagement to our programs.

Reporting and Project Management

  • Support the team to deliver on key projects that will contribute to the expansion and growth of the programs.
  • Provide reporting metrics and grant requirements to the COO.
  • Provide input into grant applications and any required reporting that impacts the delivery of our programs.
  • Track and evaluate the success of the programs and participation engagement alongside participant feedback.
