Brisbane Youth Service is a non-profit that supports young people (aged 12 – 25 years) and young families who are experiencing homelessness or are at-risk of becoming homeless. We support young people to secure and maintain housing, address physical and mental health issues, establish successful relationships and support networks, and access pathways to education and employment.

The Opportunity

Are you a dynamic individual with a high attention to detail and the ability to provide reception, administration, and vehicle fleet support for effective business operations?

The Administration Officer provides reception and administration support for the effective business operations of Brisbane Youth Service.

You will hold a Certificate or Diploma in Administration, Business Studies or have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.; have a current Queensland driver’s license and you must hold a current Working with Children Positive Notice (blue card) prior to commencing.

To be successful in your application you will need to provide written responses to the following selection criteria:

  • Understanding of and commitment to BYS vision, objectives and practice framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with MS Office products, including spreadsheets, MS Word and CRM databases and to deliver accurate and well-presented documents.
  • Demonstrated capacity to undertake frontline reception duties via the telephone and face to face.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated capacity to interact positively with vulnerable young people and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound organisational skills and effective time management with the ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to use initiative in the workplace and demonstrate problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety compliance requirements.
