AT CAFS, YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
Cafs (Child and Family Services Ballarat) is a proudly independent community service organisation, with our head office located in the Ballarat Community. We celebrate diversity and strive to be inclusive in everything we do. For over 156 years, the heart of our service has been the wellbeing of children, young people and their families. Today, that commitment stands strong, and we extend our programs to include everyone who needs assistance across the Grampians and Central Highlands Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQA+, people of all abilities, people of different race, ethnicity or cultural backgrounds and people of all religions.
Cafs have adopted TBRI as our preferred model of care and Cafs way of strengthening relationships with others. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviours. Our services are aimed at providing early help and intervention, targeted support and ongoing assistance. Cafs is a value driven organisation, which means we use our values to hold ourselves to account in how we work together and how we serve our clients
We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Services Case Manager. If you are waiting to give back, be part of an engaged and energised workforce than this opportunity might be for you!
The Youth Services programs incorporate both residential care case management and Targeted Care Packages. The Residential Care program provides care to twelve young people, living across multiple residential units in Ballarat. The young people living in residential care are generally aged between 12 and 18 years and are on a Children's Court Order. Residential care is designed to be a short term care arrangement with a focus on young people moving into a more long term and sustainable care arrangement; often this transition is via a Targeted Care Package (TCP). TCP's are funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) to enhance opportunities for young people identified in a priority cohort including those currently residing in residential care, or at risk of entering residential care, to enter a more suitable environment such as returning to family, entering foster care, or transitioning into independent living.
As the Youth Services Case Manager you will be responsible for providing case management services to a range of young people, including high risk children and adolescents, who reside in a Cafs residential care unit or are supported by a TCP. The role assists the team through the provision of specialised knowledge and guidance applied within the Youth Services programs
The successful candidate will be kind, enthusiastic and a committed team member.
Key skills and attributes:
