The Barwon Orange Door (BOD) provides integrated intake services to clients seeking assistance with child wellbeing; specialist women’s and men’s family violence; Child Protection and Aboriginal services and is staffed by a range of partner agency staff working in a collaborative and integrated model of practice. Together the BOD provides integrated screening, investigation, triage, assessment and planning for:
BOD and promotes the Best Interest Principles when assessing the needs of vulnerable children and young people and adheres to the MARAM framework for risk assessment and management of family violence. As a Risk Assessment entity (RAE) and an Information Sharing Entity (ISE) you will be expected to share and request relevant information to promote the safety of all clients within the relevant practice guidelines.
The role will largely be based at the Colac Access Point but also be required to work from the BOD, and will provide a range of services including screening, identification and triage and, assessment and planning work. The practitioner will need to provide their expertise to both child wellbeing and family violence referrals received by the BOD and work in an integrated practice framework, whilst applying a trauma-informed approach that promotes client’s choice and empowerment.
