We are seeking an AI and automation lead to join our Information Technology team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing new AI technologies and solutions to transform processes and decision-making across the organisation. The position will also provide administrative support for the Information Technology systems and services within Cairnmillar.

Cairnmillar is now one of the largest trainers of postgraduate psychologists and counsellors in Australia. We offer an excellent range of clinic services, postgraduate programs in psychology and counselling, and short courses and professional development for the broader community.

The role

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, test and deploy AI and chatbot (virtual assistant) solutions that solve real problems such as optimising & streamlining workflows, improving project planning and scheduling, and more.
  • Use AI, NLP technologies, and cognitive machine learning to develop chatbot applications and AI implementations within the Cairnmillar environment.
  • Develop automation and orchestrations using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Automate, Power Apps, Flow, Power, Power BI) from proof-of-concept to production deployment.
  • Assist the business integration with Teams and Microsoft 365
  • Work closely with business leaders and end users across departments to identify opportunities for AI and automation to drive process improvements and enhance decision-making.
  • Rapidly prototype and pilot AI solutions in our fast-paced environment.
  • Take ownership of AI products from design through deployment, testing and maintenance.
  • Maintain and continuously improve existing AI models and systems to utilise new data, techniques, and technologies.
  • Provide recommendations for implementing production-ready AI solutions aligned to industry best practices.
  • Stay up to date on the latest AI research and technologies that may benefit the organisation.
  • Develop automation and orchestrations using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Automate, Power Apps, Flow, Power, Power BI) from proof-of-concept to production deployment.
  • Design and implement processes and strategies to enhance the end-user experience.
  • Respond to the needs of staff and students as they encounter any IT-related issues.

What you will need

  • Degree in Computer Science or related area or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working in complex enterprise Data Environments
  • Knowledge of common AI development, automation, and Machine Learning tools
  • Proven experience in end-to-end creation and support of Microsoft PowerAutomate solutions.
  • Proven experience with chatbot and AI development and integration.
  • Proven experience with databases such as Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
  • PowerShell and other automation/scripting tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Developed ability to collaborate and operate in a close team.
  • Excellent problem solving and conceptual/abstract thinking skills, coupled with business acumen.
