About the role 

The Secretariat Support - Navigation role sits within the Cancer Control Policy Division of Cancer Council Australia and reports to the Navigation Program Manager. The role undertakes a range of duties to support the Navigation Steering Committee.

This role provides secretariat support to the Navigation Steering Committee by arranging meetings, coordinating papers, taking minutes, following up on action items, coordinating reporting and maintaining organisational records.

You will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience providing high level support to a senior level executive, preferably a CEO or project office.
  • Experience providing secretariat support to a Board/Committee and working closely with the Chair.
  • Experience working in a complex organisation with multiple and complex stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems and manage competing priorities whilst upholding confidentiality and exercising discretion.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and Adobe software.
  • Calm, approachable, friendly manner with high emotional intelligence and strong personal resilience.
  • A team player with a commitment to the charitable purpose of Cancer Council.
