The opportunity

Based in Subiaco, this position is part-time (0.8 FTE).

A new opportunity exists within our Cancer Support Services team. As the Counselling and Legal Support Services Program Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient functioning of the legal pro bono program, the financial counselling services and the psychological counselling service.

Reporting to the Cancer Support Services Manager, you will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring high-quality, consistent and seamless service to clients.
  • Monitoring and reviewing referrals to each program area ensuring adherence with current policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Invoicing and data entry for counselling sessions completed.
  • Developing and maintaining a provider register across the streams of service provision.
  • Building of relationships and working collaboratively with key service providers and internal and external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in a health-related profession.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination preferably within health and/community sector.
  • High-level of computer skills across Microsoft Office suite and databases.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA.
  • Positive approach to the workplace.
