The opportunity

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our SunSmart team.

Working closely with the team, you will be responsible for driving SunSmart WA’s online presence with our target audiences and will include developing social media strategies, website copywriting/editing/uploading and analytics, providing support for skin cancer prevention mass media campaigns and more.

Based in Subiaco, this position is part-time (0.8FTE), fixed-term until 30 June 2029.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and executing skin cancer prevention and early diagnosis communications and public relations plans.
  • Establishing and maintaining SunSmart dedicated social media platforms, including producing and monitoring content for social media platforms.
  • Overseeing our Generation SunSmart and MyUV websites.
  • Analysing and reporting on digital analytics from our mass media campaigns.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, public relations, communications, health or other relevant field
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with web content management systems, social media and analytics
  • Demonstrated success in writing for a range of channels and audiences and translating complex/technical concepts and issues into accessible and simple language.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
