Within the Behavioural Science Division, the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer’s (CBRC) mission is to conduct high quality applied behavioural research and evaluation to inform and influence cancer prevention policies, programs and services, ultimately reducing the impact of cancer on the Australian community. This includes leading the research and evaluation activities of the Screening, Early Detection and Immunisation (SEDI) Program.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and engaged Research and Evaluation Manager (SEDI) to join CBRC. Reporting to the Senior Research and Evaluation Manager (SEDI) your role is to:

  • Lead and manage the evaluation framework for priority SEDI program portfolios.
  • Conceive, design and implement evaluation projects, methods and tools in collaboration with program staff
  • Oversee and conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis to provide timely research insights to inform the development and continuous improvement of screening and early detection campaigns and programs.
  • Provide research and evaluation advice to SEDI Managers and program staff and build capacity among SEDI program staff to integrate evaluative practice into programs.

All about you

We are looking for someone who is passionate and deeply committed to contributing to cancer prevention and with:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, psychology, social work, public health, community development or a related discipline.
  • Substantial research and evaluation experience in an evaluation, research or population monitoring related environment.
  • Sound understanding of community development and the community health sector as well as evaluation approaches appropriate for use in the community sector
  • Well-developed relationship management and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with individuals and organisations
