Job Summary:

In this dynamic and multi-faceted role as Clinical Program & Service Development Specialist, you will utilise your practitioner skills to develop evidence-based psychosocial programs for young people and parents impacted by cancer. Manualised psychosocial programs – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy based programs; meaning-making based grief programs are just a few examples of the rewarding work that you will deliver to support our young people impacted or bereaved due to cancer.

Working as a critical part of the Research, Evaluations & Social Policy team, you will also support the National Programs Manager, Coordinators and Evaluations Team to ensure successful program implementation, evaluation and delivery.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of Canteen’s evidence-based psychosocial interventions in line with organisational strategic priorities
  • Development of program manuals and resources
  • Liaising with internal (e.g., staff) and external (e.g., hospital, other NFP organizations, schools, program partners) stakeholders to develop interventions
  • Co-ordinating and facilitating program development working groups
  • Conducting literature reviews and maintaining a bibliographic database
  • Assisting in preparation of conference presentations and journal articles, and present work
  • Advising on the development and delivery of staff training for the implementation of psychosocial programs
  • Advising on the development of evaluation protocols
  • Appropriate record keeping, including maintaining agendas and minutes
  • Supporting the development grant applications

Is this you?

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Clinical psychologist, Allied Health Professional or PhD in psychology
  • At least 3 years clinical experience, preferably working with young people
  • Program development experience
  • Evidence of a scientist-practitioner approach
  • Intervention implementation and evaluation experience desirable

Employment Details:

Location: Sydney, NSW

Job type: Maximum-term 12 months; full-time

Hours of work: 5 days / 37.50 hours per week
