Canteen is looking to the next phase of growth in reach and income through our Corporate Partnerships portfolio, following the development of a transformative plan which includes new leadership and an ambitious vision for the future. To help continue this new direction, we are seeking an inspirational Corporate Partnerships leader and business development professional who can take Canteen’s vision, create growth strategies and build partnerships for future success. Reporting to the Executive Director – Marketing and Fundraising, this is a high impact leadership role, blending strategy and delivery in a collaborative and purposeful team environment.

Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, treatments and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

About our role

  • Establish and lead the strategic vision for Canteen’s engagement with key decision makers in potential and existing relationships with Corporate Partners.
  • Develop and implement a new supporter communication strategy, including impact-focussed storytelling, regular progress updates and impact reports.
  • Have a seat at the table as a critical member of the Canteen Senior Leadership Team to contribute to the culture and operation of the organisation.
  • Mentor, empower and build the capacity of the Corporate Partnerships team ensuring they deliver to the KPIs and financial targets you set.
  • Identify, secure and foster new partnership opportunities in collaboration with other team members, ensuring alignment with the brand, the organizational strategy and responding to the needs of both organizations.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of corporate prospects.
  • Establish and maintain Canteen’s reputation as a ‘partner of excellence’ within the corporate sector.
  • Development and management of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting is developed and maintained for management and review.
  • Responsibility for ensuring Canteen has excellent relationships with appropriate external stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for the organisation.
  • Build, motivate and develop a culture where there is unbridled commitment to help colleagues and the mission thrive.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience demonstrated in Corporate Partnerships teams.
  • Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience as a Head of Corporate Partnerships or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading high performing teams.
  • Strong ability to network, build relationships and negotiate at a senior level.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Professionalism and pride in work
  • First class presentation and public speaking skills, with an ability to prepare and present information in a clear, logical, and compelling way.
  • A values-based approach and genuine desire to grow your team and those around you.

Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.
