Join Canteen and help Young People affected by cancer in a caring and compassionate team culture.
Canteen acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Peoples and sovereign custodians of this land. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Canteen is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and people of all ages. We welcome all people including those from diverse backgrounds, faiths, sexual orientation and/or gender identities.
Just when life should be full of possibilities, cancer crashes into a young person’s world and shatters everything. Cancer pushes them back in to the nest, makes them grow up too fast and weighs them down with worries they are not supposed to have yet. Canteen is a game changer.
Canteen is a national support organisation for 12 to 25-year-olds who cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they have been diagnosed themselves, we also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams. Working for Canteen is a chance to support young people rebuilding the foundations that crumbled beneath them when cancer turned their world upside down.
We connect, we empower, we challenge, and we are real. These values ground the way we work at Canteen, and underpin a culture that brings people together, collectively, in an inspiring and positive way. Being a part of our team offers you a rewarding, purposeful and genuine experience, with endless opportunities. Find out more on our LinkedIn Life Page.
Your role as Customer Service Officer, or Supporter Care Officer as we like to name the position at Canteen, will be based in a call centre fundraising environment where you will be tasked with maintaining high quality relationships with Canteen’s donors via inbound and outbound phone, email, SMS & web chat streams.
You will be responsible for the provision of high levels of customer service and the ability to identify retention and fundraising opportunities of donors. Through inbound and outbound calls and email handling across all fundraising portfolios, complaint handling, donation processing and accurate updating of donors information in Canteen’s system(s), you’ll be at the heart of what we do.
This is a fast-paced role connecting to new and existing Canteen donors, with the added advantages of working in a great team environment while also having the opportunity to play a pivotal role in Canteen’s journey to support young people and their families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
