About the Role

Step into a new role in 2025! Are you working in Aged/Disability sector and looking to step away from shift work and into a role where you can share your knowledge, inspire others, and make a meaningful impact by teaching the next generation of Care Workers?

At Carers Queensland we are seeking an experienced, passionate, and qualified Trainer & Assessor to take a lead role in providing high quality training with our students and help shape the future of care.

You will provide high-quality, engaging and practical training, through delivery of interactive online training, practical face-to-face sessions (various locations), as well support student with site visits during placement and contribute to the on-going development and enhancement of our curriculum.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver training and assessment services online and face-to-face – including evening classes (as required)
  • Conduct support sessions with students and regularly contact student cohort to provide support and feedback to all students to ensure successful completion of study
  • Monitor, mark and conduct student assessments
  • Conduct site visits with students on vocational placement to provide support and conduct student assessments where applicable
  • Plan, review and improve training and assessment materials, including participating in assessment validation/moderation for continuous improvement
  • Engage with students on digital applications and log all student contact on Student Management System
  • Assist in the undertaking of Recognition of Prior Learning processes where applicable
  • Maintain current knowledge of the VET industry and standards

Do you?

  • Hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor qualification.
  • Have a minimum Certificate III in Individual Support in Aging and Disability stream.
  • Have at least 2 years relevant industry working experience.
  • Have evidence of industry currency within the last 12 months.
  • Have high-level communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt skills according to the audience or target group involved
