Carers Victoria is a leading not-for-profit organisation, working to make sure that the almost one million unpaid carers across the state are understood, recognised and supported. We do this by providing information, advice and respite services to carers; by hosting education sessions and events to support them in their role; by gathering and analysing data and producing reports about carers and what they need; and by raising broad awareness of carers across the whole community. We are in a significant period of change, looking at how we can reach and support even more carers through innovative models, systems and thinking.

The Position

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Development and delivery of a strategic program of collection, analysis and dissemination of data and intelligence about carers, their priorities and the impact of the supports they receive.
  • Designing effective strategies to engage with carers to gain their feedback and insights in a safe and respectful manner
  • Leading establishment of a strategic framework to guide priorities for Carers Victoria’s engagement in external research projects and initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver timely, accurate and insightful data and analysis to support advocacy, policy and program development, and other activities to improve outcomes for carers

The Person

This exciting opportunity will suit a person with strong skills and senior experience in social policy evaluation, data analysis and insights who is looking for a role that makes a difference.

To be successful in this role, you would have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, which includes components related to working with, and analysis of, data and other intel or extensive senior experience in a similar role
  • Experience in leading the design, planning, delivery and review of evaluation programs and associated data collections, ideally in the health, social care or related sector/s
  • Great collaboration skills and the ability to positively support and motivate work colleagues to support achievement of team priorities and goals
  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to impact evaluation and/or relevant frameworks, including those relevant to the Victorian context
