Carers Victoria is a leading not-for-profit organisation, working to make sure that the almost one million unpaid carers across the state are understood, recognised and supported. We do this by providing information, advice and respite services to carers; by hosting education sessions and events to support them in their role; by gathering and analysing data and producing reports about carers and what they need; and by raising broad awareness of carers across the whole community. We are in a significant period of change, looking at how we can reach and support even more carers through innovative models, systems and thinking.

The Position

We are seeking a Visual Branding Specialist to play a pivotal role in ensuring supporting Carer’s Victoria to effectively engage and communicate with Victoria’s unpaid carers, the broader community, our partners and other key stakeholders. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will use your creative and technical design skills to further the communications and marketing work of Carers Victoria.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Design a broad range of marketing collateral, both print and digital.
  • Create innovative and engaging event materials to enhance event experiences and convey key messages effectively.
  • Develop compelling graphics, infographics, illustrations, and interactive visuals.
  • Maintain a cross organisational bank of photos with captioning.
  • Edit and retouch photos as required.
  • Produce, edit and oversee the development of animations, promotional videos, and multimedia presentations.
  • Provide cross organisational guidance to promote consistency in the look, feel. layout and accessibility of externally facing materials.
  • Maintain current knowledge about contemporary practises in relation to information accessibility and build organisational knowledge and buy in regarding these.

The Position

To be successful in this role you would have:   

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in graphic design / communications or marketing
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles within marketing and design.
  • Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to incorporate them into all design work.
  • Experience in designing for a broad range of mediums (print and digital) and knowledge of current design trends and technologies.
  • Proficiency in developing easy to use templates for promotional materials, invitations and similar.
  • Experience in data visualisation and creating infographics.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, In Design, Illustrator, CANVA and other relevant tools.

The Offer

  • Support a not-for-profit organisation, who is focused on improving outcomes for Carers in our community.
  • Part time (0.4 FTE) with flexible work arrangements, choose to work across two full days or split your hours to suit school hours or other caring responsibilities.
  • $102,200 gross pro rata + super + not-for-profit salary packaging available
  • Hybrid work arrangement, with offices conveniently located in Melbourne CBD
