About the role

Our established Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation is looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to lead and foster a team of Disability Support Workers in providing exceptional person-centred holistic care and support to our residents. The accommodation has established participants, and employees.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for developing program schedules according to our resident’s needs and wants, day to day management of the clients, properties and staff, the rostering of staff and exceptional stakeholder engagement. The role will include direct support with residents also.

This is a maternity leave permanent full-time contract, working Monday to Friday. You will participate, where needed, on a rotating on-call roster and will when be required, be able to work at other CatholicCare sites. This is an onsite role only, and your flexibility with start and finish times will be required.

Duties

• Leading, inspiring, coaching and mentoring a team of Residential Support Workers to implement Person Centred Supports, underpinned by our policies and procedures.
• Understanding of developing a person-centred plan objective for, and with, our residents.
• Strong and clear communication skills to foster positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Hands on approach to providing care and support to residents.
• Onboarding and training for Residential Support Workers and Participants.
• Participation with an on-call roster, which includes staff and resident support outside normal business hours, weekends and overnight.

Requirements

• An understanding, and ability, to work from the perspective of Unconditional Positive Regard with our clients, staff and stakeholders
• Experience in leading a Supported Independent Living (SIL) program.
• Understanding of the Roster of Care and Master roster.
• Tertiary qualifications in appropriate areas desirable.
• Proven ability to lead, develop a team and foster teamwork.
• Clear understanding of what holistic Person-Centred supports look like, how to implement these and deliver to the highest possible standards
• Understanding of Restrictive Practices and reporting requirements, where relevant
• Experience in implement Behaviour Support Plan strategies as well as in implementing other Allied Health Plans.
• NSW Driver’s Licence and access to insured vehicle.

Highly Desirable

• Current working with children’s check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Completion of NDIS worker orientation module.
