Are you a highly skilled finance leader with a strong background in treasury management and financial governance? We are looking for an experienced Finance Professional to take on a pivotal leadership role within the Archdiocese of Hobart, as Fund Manager for the Catholic Development Fund and providing financial governance within a shared services environment of finance & payroll.

As the Director Treasury & Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the Catholic Development Fund's treasury operations, ensuring liquidity, capital management, and optimal financial returns. Additionally, you will be responsible for the delivery of financial and payroll services for multiple Agencies of the Archdiocese of Hobart. This leadership role is instrumental in supporting Agency strategies, positioning them for sustainable growth and long-term success.

Essential requirements:

  • Commitment to the identity and mission of the Archdiocese of Hobart; and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with senior leadership experience and a CA/CPA accreditation.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing treasury operations, ensuring effective liquidity and capital management. Expertise in cash flow management and financial forecasting to meet both short-term and long-term operational and financial commitments.
  • Expertise in developing and monitoring annual budgets, providing regular performance updates, and conducting variance analysis.
  • Experience in managing statutory reporting, financial audits, and board reporting, ensuring adherence to all fiduciary, governance and policy obligations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Diocesan Agencies, schools, and other Catholic entities.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience in mentoring and empowering teams to achieve high performance.
  • Ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to guide decision-making.
