The organisation

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a leading member based, for purpose organisation. We provide programs and services that aim to strengthen over 450 community radio, local and independent media organisations.

With over five million listeners each week, community radio plays a vital role in providing a voice for multicultural, First Nations and other underrepresented groups, as well as supporting independent and emerging musicians, and communities not adequately serviced by other media services.

The role

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia seeks to engage an API and integrations developer to forward the organisation’s work to survey and assess the programming and music put to air on 400+ community radio services across Australia.

This role offers you the opportunity to leverage your developer skills and passion for Australian music and Community Radio. You will be instrumental in creating new tools to empower Australian artists to establish connections and grow their audience. Additionally, you'll contribute to enhancing the impact of community radio on the Australian music scene.

This project/role will be engaged as a six-month fixed-term contract.

The Integrations Developer will take responsibility for designing and implementing solutions to integrate near real-time content analytics data with multiple existing CBAA broadcast and online products and services. This work will provide for organisational, industry and partner reporting, and feed into sector strategy and advocacy initiatives.

Initially working with an existing development team to implement specific reporting feature within the CBAA music distribution service, this data-driven project/role will also lead and coordinate work across multiple product areas to develop a technology architecture providing for both transactional production and analytics services in conjunction with in-house digital product service owners, data analyists, external developers and consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake requirements analysis with service and product owners and development partners.
  • Coordinate the design and development of reporting features.
  • Provide expert guidance to produce a coordinated technology solution exposing data for multiple downstream services.
  • Lead the development and implementation of integrations with line of business applications.
  • Contribute expertise to related CBAA services as required.

Your success profile will include:

  • Experience in business requirements analysis and project management,
  • Experience with API development, publication and documentation,
  • Designing for transactional and analytical workloads,
  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud hosting environments
  • Knowledge of various web programming languages and frameworks including LaravelPHP and React
  • Knowledge of database technologies and SQL
  • Experience with common software development tools and processes
  • Experience with relevant development standards and design frameworks
  • Budget estimation and control

Desirable skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Data Factory, Data Lake
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM APIs
  • Familiarity with Python and Flask
