BHN is seeking a Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, welcoming and experienced multidisciplinary NDIS team. Be part of a broader team of 30+ professionals (Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Exercise Physiologists and Social Workers) delivering high-quality, sensitive and responsive NDIS services. Assist the teams by using your well-developed clinical skills, assessment skills and communication skills to support adults with NDIS plans.

About the role

As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist with the NDIS team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments with eligible NDIS participants.
  • Using sound clinical judgement to develop recommendations and reports to support NDIS inclusion and funding.
  • Delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to NDIS participants in the clinic or through outreach in participants’ homes or in the community.
  • Providing services that build on a person’s strengths and capabilities, and that are consistent with their identified goals.
    Collaborating with the multidisciplinary NDIS therapeutic teams, NDIS participants and participants’ families, carers and support networks.
  • Promoting the NDIS program to internal and external stakeholders.

About you

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy - Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based mental health practice.
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy services and support including OT assessments, reports and interventions.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and relevant disability legislation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, exercising sound professional judgment and seeking advice, supervision and consultation when appropriate.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
